The Immigration Equality Family Grows

I’m excited to announce a new addition to the Immigration Equality family.
On Monday, long-time Immigration Equality supporter and volunteer Christopher Taylor Edwards will officially join our staff as our new Communications Manager. You probably already know some of his fantastic work.
Christopher has, for many years, been one of our terrific grassroots volunteers. His past work has included designing the Immigration Equality float for the San Francisco Pride Parade in 2004; leading the former DC Chapter; and co-organizing our annual Valentine’s Day fundraiser in Washington. He is also the American half of a long-term, binational relationship.
In addition to his volunteer work, Christopher has spent over a decade building a portfolio as a graphic designer and writer, including working with nonprofit clients as diverse as DC’s Brainfood, SOS Children’s Villages, the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, and the DC Jazz Festival. He studied anthropology at the University of Virginia and has a BFA in Media Arts from the California College of the Arts.
In his new staff role with Immigration Equality, Christopher will oversee nearly every aspect of our online, social networking and e-communications work, including the launch of our new Action Fund website. He’ll also work closely with our binational copules and spokesfamilies, and continue to do brand management work as well.
I hope you’ll join me in welcoming Christopher to Immigration Equality’s communications department. I have no doubt you’ll see many wonderful things from him in the weeks ahead.
